Christian Education Ministry Update

We are back in our "normal" Sunday morning schedule with our Christian Ed ministry at

Please be sure to remember our Educational Ministry leaders and youth and adult learners in your prayers as we make our way into Lent, Holy Week and new ministry opportunities.

If you have questions or would like more information about PPC's Educational Ministry, please contact Kathy Hankins, PPC's Education Ministry Director at 742-2752.

JR HIGH MISSION TRIP TO DULUTH

During the week of July 6-11, four of our "new confirmation students" will be making their way to Duluth, Minnesota for their first mission trip experience. Alex Harvey, Nick Hankins, Meghan Messer and Brittany Ballard will be working in such places as a soup kitchen, a food pantry, clothing warehouse, a summer kid's program or a nursing care facility as they "share the good news of Jesus" through their presence and their actions.

Please remember these four young people and the adult leaders (Deb Harvey and Pastor Dave) as  they move "out of their comfort zone" and work as the "hands and feet of Jesus."

PPC’s Senior High Youth

will be involved in their 8th Summer Mission Trip experience

during the Summer of 2008.

This year they will be making their way to New Orleans, LA.

“The Feet of Peace”

(as our Senior High youth call themselves)

have previously traveled to these mission sites:

Chattanooga, TN

Rand, WV

Rosebud, SD (twice)

Wind River, WY

Green Bay, WI

Marvel, AR

Duluth, MN

Cairo, IL

Such mission trip experiences have only been possible because of the generosity and support of the Portage Presbyterian Church community

And the participation of the families of the “Feet of Peace” youth.

New Orleans Information

In a few short weeks we will be heading to New Orleans for our mission trip - June 20-28.

While there we will be staying at the Grace Lutheran Church in New Orleans.

Among the local ministries with which we will be involved are: Second Harvest Food Shelf; Kingsley House (children's programs); ACORN and Beacon of Hope (work projects).

We also hope to connect with some of the people that we met 2 years ago and introduce them to our Senior High folks.

Those going to New Orleans in June will be Alyssa Crossley, Kayla Ballard, Colter Joles, Kathy Bennett, Dan Bennett, Kami Bornick, Taylor Bornick. Bruce, Gerner, Julie Gerner and Pastor Dave will be the adult leaders.

Please remember our Senior High Mission Trippers and adult leaders in your prayers as they minister on our behalf and in the name of Jesus Christ to those in need.
